Pinea Gigs Sandra Saddle Bag (Swoon) MoonBeam Textiles

I've never owned a Guinea Pig in my entire life, but they do seem pretty cute...and while I wasn't initially feeling the fabric for this round, it's really grown on me and now I kind of love it!  The combination of punk rock band and Guinea pigs is something both adorable and funny, and the colors are awesome!

The preorder for this fabric is open right now at Moon Beam Textiles!  I used 2 big kid panels (CL) and a half yard of the awesome purple plaid in quilting cotton to make the Sandra Saddle Bag from Swoon. (affiliate link)

I was torn on which to put outside, but the singer was just slightly more awesome...

It was *almost* enough for the purse after I added in a fun vinyl from My Punkbroidery for the outside gusset, but I did use the bottom of one of the panels to cut the zipper pocket pieces. And a solid for the lining of the other pocket piece. Really, a yard would be better and give you less stress about trying to cut all the pieces, plus you'd have extra for other projects! The vinyl has been in my stash for so long that I don't even know if they are still carrying it!

When I make the Sandra, I like to leave off the front snap piece, it hangs down when open and just bothers me. Instead, I moved the snap to the inside and it works fine!

Since this is 'cool' fabric, I decided to try a few artistic/fun shots.  I even made my oldest drag out her fancy ukulele LOL

Band practice!

Cool fabric calls for equally cool hardware! The floral skull pulls in gunmetal and gorgeous metallic light purple zipper from Wizardry, Stitchery, and crafts were perfect accents!  And the gunmetal hardware for the strap was nice and sturdy!

The lighting makes it look silver, but it's black, trust me.
