WIP Wednesday - Delayed For Construction

This week is a bit out of wack, due to surgery on my sinuses.  I'm a firm believer in the 'don't work under the influence of strong drugs because you'll regret it later' policy...so instead of sewing, I'm rinsing out my sinuses several times a day, and living on the couch.  ;)  I'd rather be sewing, but leaning forward is somewhat painful at the moment and I keep dozing off randomly.  Before the surgery tho, I did get started on a new project and it's calling my name!  Mainly because I want to get to the next projects behind it, including a fun Beast peeker bag and the latest Swoon pattern release - The Expedition Tote! (affiliated link)

WIP Wednesday - Breaking in the Crafting Space

After the headbands, I wanted to do more sewing!!  I found a new way to use up my flannel, baby burp cloths!  These are faster than the Flannel Eater blankets, but use less of my stash.  There are a ton of tutorials online for the patterns but I found measurements from this Simply Designing pattern and then modified it a little.  As long as my serging doesn't go crooked, they go super fast and only one tail to finish...otherwise they get a little special...
The silver stars are glittery, but they should soften up more with each wash

Baby Knit Headbands

I finally had a chance to plug in the serger and try out my new sewing studio!  It's not even halfway set up, but I am running out of time to get stuff made for my new niece (due any day now!) and I was itching to try out the new set up!
Hopefully they fit and stay on!

WIP Wednesday - Sewing Soon!

At least I hope to be sewing again very soon...  The craft studio is starting to come together, if you ignore the giant piles of boxes in the center of the room...I've already rearranged it 2x and I think this is probably still not the final set up. I'm forcing myself to use the entire room, not just along the edges with one thing in the center.
The important things...Amazon music and tula pink fabric

Things are Coming Together...Slowly

I was going through sewing withdrawal, but I was able to get a quick fix this weekend by doing a small convention at the local library.  I had great plans to get a ton of stuff prepared, but apparently moving takes a lot of effort and time...so I only got a few things cut out and then couldn't find the tool to put snaps on more keychains and bracelets...
bows, bookmarks, finger puppets, snap tabs, masks and crowns!

More Yarn Pooling Fun!

~~Sometimes, you forget what you're doing and then months later you run across a blog post you wrote up and never hit publish on...so you finally get to see the rest of my attempts at color pooling! And, unfortunately, they haven't really progressed in the mean time, so nothing new to add..~~

After I finished my first pooling project, I couldn't wait to start another one!  This time I did the 'chain through all the colors, then moss stitch through the colors again and take some out' method, which I finally got to work, but it took a lot of frogging and retrying...

The yarn is Red Heart With Love in Delightful

Bag of the Month Club - June's Minifacto by ChrisW Designs

I was super lucky and got a chance to test the final bag for this run of the BOMC, ChrisW's Minifacto!  There are actually 2 different bags included, the Factotum and the Minifacto.  I really wanted to do the Factotum, but being limited on time meant I needed to go for the faster one.  I definitely will be making myself a big one since I need a new laptop bag!  The Minifacto is adorable, and actually a really good size, just slightly smaller than what I'm using now.
I don't know if I can let this one go...
