It has been forever since I made the adorable Serendipity Hip Crossbody Bag from ChrisW designs, so when she decided to update the pattern, I jumped at the chance to make a new one! The update includes all the square pieces as printable pattern pieces -- not just measurements, an improvement to the instructions, and a new video!

This bag is so fun! |
 |
Side view, very slim! |
Since this was a 'for fun' testing bag, I let my group (Tiger in a Tornado Creations) vote on the fabric. They chose the funky and fun nerdy Totoro fabric from Knitorious Fabric, and I paired it with a pretty iridescent origami illusions vinyl from my stash. I think it came from My Punkbroidery, but probably about 5 years ago (or more?).

My tag is centered, I'm pretty sure... |
The pattern has lots of pockets for such a slim bag! There is the front zipper pocket, with a slip pocket and phone pouch behind it, plus an internal zipper pocket and card pockets.

Front zipper pocket |
 |
Behind the zipper pocket, and the phone pocket |
I really like the method to create the card slots, no tricky measuring and folding!
 |
4 card slots, no waiting! |
 |
Another zipper pocket! |
The strap on the Serendipity Hip is only a 3/4" wide one, and somehow my hardware choices for that size are very limited. I ended up using the buckle D ring from
Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts for the slider, and still had to use a tiny piece of glitter vinyl to give the seat belt webbing something to grab.
 |
I kind of like the fancy look! |
 |
The lavender glitter vinyl is also from Wizardry, Stitchery, and crafts and is gorgeous! Sad to hide it like this LOL |
I love having matching seat belt webbing and zipper tape, just makes the bag even cuter! I think I need to order more of the lavender and day dream zipper tape from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, I might be running low! I'm not sure exactly where the zipper pulls came from, but they were the perfect accent.
 |
It doesn't really stand by itself...but it's so cute! |
 |
I have so many fun zipper pulls... |
The Serendipity Hip isn't a tiny bag, but it is definitely on the smaller size, with lots of features! Be sure to check out the
pattern, or if you want to order a custom made one, I have some openings this month!

Leaning against the backdrop |
 |
So much space for activities, er, carrying stuff! |
