Potter Mash Up Sydney (Swoon)

For some reason, the Sydney messenger bag from Swoon is just a great bag for mash-ups! This one has 5 different fabrics used, and I think nearly all of the companies have since shut down! Pretty sure the fabrics came from Hapa, Ohana, Affordable Fabrics and More, Snowy Owl, and Joanns.

It's a bright and colorful, but also dark purse!

I think it works so nicely for mash up bags because there are SO MANY pieces! The front pockets let me focus on 2 images for the flaps, plus the main parts of the pocket, and even under the flap can have another fun print!

On top of the fun prints, it also has 2 zipper compartments and a top zipper closure, so more chance to show off my awesome zipper pulls! The Nightmare zipper tape from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts is so magical, and looks great with their Luna glasses or the Magic school crest zipper pulls.

I feel like any color other than rainbow is just a waste for this zipper pull!

When I make this bag, I like to make the gusset just a little wider, so there is plenty of room inside! I add on an inch, and it really does make a difference!

I really love the map fabric from Affordable Fabrics and More, and I'm down to scraps!

The back of the bag has a full width slip pocket. I don't divide it, so sheets of paper and notebooks fit in nicely. I have added a magnetic snap to the back pocket for other orders, to give it a little bit more security, but it wasn't requested on this one. The strap is a grunge fabric I bought from Joann's. I love it so much I actually bought the entire bolt and when I run out, I will be super sad!

The icons/sweaters and beans is a fun print, and I'm not sure where it came from anymore

Inside, there is another zipper pocket, and a slip pocket that I divide to hold a pen and some smaller items. I used the Snowy Owl fabric for the lining, it's not the actual book printed in there, but it does look pretty cool!

I think it's about time for me to make another Sydney, and I have so many different fabric options! I usually wait for an order so they can pick the fabrics and focus, but maybe I need to just go with what I like this time. Although that is a good way to make a purse I can't bear to sell and I don't need another purse...yet. Hmm, Doctor Who, Supernatural, LOTR, Princess, super heroes, or... Too many options!
