I love when pattern designers offer a free pattern, it helps me get a feel for their style of writing and also lets me try out a new pattern! One of the
free patterns (She has several!!) on the Blue Calla website is the
Clematis clutch. I've already made a few of her paid patterns (
Boronia Bowler and
Freesia Foldover) so I already know how good they are, but this time there was a swap in the FaceBook group and I couldn't resist!

Tula Pink Octogarden fit perfectly on the outside panels! |

A very wrinkled picture...I forgot to iron it apparently... |
This is an adorable little clutch, and with some wipeable fabric for the lining it would be perfect for a makeup pouch, or a pencil case! I can see myself making several more (in my non-existent free time), and I bet they would be great for craft shows and Christmas gifts!
I cut into my stash of Octogarden by Tula Pink for the outside, and the inside is one of the Effervescent fabrics by Michael Miller. The circles reminded me of the ocean and coral! I even found a cute sea horse charm to use for my zipper pull!
I made the handle detachable, so if nothing else, it could double for a key chain!
The one I received from the swap, my favorite Karen Hallion print! I think this is going to be my new crochet hook bag, so I have an excuse to carry it with me everywhere!!
This was a great swap. Both of yours look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can't wait for the next one!
