Lou SW Blossoms Regina Phalanges Traveler Tote - Knitorious Fabric and Sincerely Jenn Patterns

Have you ever seen a fabric and just thought "WOW!!"? This Lou SW panel and coordinating fabric from Knitorious Fabrics totally blew my mind! It's almost TOO fancy for what I usually sew, so I had to find the perfect bag to show it off!

Outdoor pic since it's green again!

Almost a perfect line up across the zipper

Tried to show how huge this bag is, since it was too big for the mannequin to hold!
Add in the fact that the panel I got was HUGE, I had to search for a big bag to really do justice to the panel. The new Regina Phalanges from Sincerely Jen in the traveler size was almost a perfect fit!  The drawback to a giant bag is that I ended up needing a lot more material to finish it, and I barely had enough vinyl for the accents.

Flowers from the tree and a close up of the straps -- gorgeous colors!

The back is the actual fabric, not the panel

I dug into my stash for some pretty pink zipper tape from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, and then went rainbow for the hardware. I think an antique gold/brass would have looked really fancy, but of course I didn't have enough of that on hand, and no zipper tape for it either. Obviously my extensive hardware and supply collection is not extensive enough!

I love the daydream iridescent zipper teeth!

Since I had to squeeze as much as possible out of my strike fabric and panel, I even cut the inside slip pocket from a bit of the panel. My lining fabric is some fun Tula Pink fabric that a friend had just shipped me earlier in the week, and I instantly regretted only having a yard! Somehow that was still not enough fabric, so I had to find a 3rd one to finish cutting all the pieces, and a frantic search of a local quilt shop and Hobby Lobby found a solid pink that worked. (I miss Joanns!)

Top of the panel made a perfect accent pocket!

My vinyl stash had a partial roll of a discontinued stardust vinyl from My Punkbroidery that gives this bag a hint of shimmer! It's a softer vinyl, so I really hope it's strong enough to hold everything that gets shoved into the bag.

An accident in cutting meant that the seam for this base piece didn't line up exactly right...oops!

Can almost see the shimmer on the vinyl!
The Regina has a lot of pockets! There is the pass through pocket with zippers on both ends on the front, a slip pocket on the back, zipper and slip pocket inside, plus a great divider/zipper pocket. In a bag this big, you want as much organization as possible so it doesn't turn into a black hole.

Looking down into the bag, the divider goes all the way, so no gaps!
This fabric is only available for preorder at Knitorious Fabric until May 28th, but if you are lucky, it might come back at some point!

It's going to be hard to let this bag go off to a new home...but I don't NEED to keep it for myself!
