It seems like the test patterns all came right after one another, and they were all so fun that I couldn't resist signing up for them! The Mariposa Organizing Pouch from The Styled Magnolia is a fun little organizer with a lot of options!
| Dread Pirate Roberts, now in pouch form! |
I picked the medium size, with the deeper gusset, the vertical pocket, and the zipper pocket options. Since I want to use this for my fancy crochet hooks, I thought it would be a good idea to use foam as the padding. I probably should have put some into the gusset, to give it a little more structure, but it works without it!
| Book for scale, because doesn't everyone have a gorgeous hardback version of the book?? |
| I can't pick just one favorite quote, but I do have the entire movie pretty much memorized |
For the outside fabric, I used a small panel from Knitorious fabric, and I was able to cut all the pieces I needed! I did have to piece together the gusset from 2 strips, but I had plenty of fabric left over.
| The gusset looks wonky, but I swear it not that bad! It's mostly good, like a nice MLT |
The inside is a fun quote fabric, probably from Wanderlust (which has changed name), and it's so awesome! I used some glitter stripe clear vinyl from Backstitch prints (which also changed name to something...I can't remember) for the pocket and zipper pocket. The pulls came from...someplace else LOL! My brain is just drawing a blank since I've had them for a while!
| The pirate ship Revenge! |
| As you wish. |
The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorite movies, so I might end up keeping this for myself, especially since my late night sewing somehow ended up with an upside lining piece. Oops!
| The lining is technically upside down, but you'll never see it when I fill it up! |
| Empty shot |
Be sure to check out the awesome new pattern that any pirate would be happy to use to store their iocane powder! (or crochet hooks. I'm pretty sure some pirates crochet)
| Is my love for this like a storybook love? Yes. |
