I told you I couldn't resist all the fun tests! The new Crystaline Pencil Pouch from The Styled Magnolia was at least a quick project -- I spent more time finding materials than actually sewing!

Sorry for the glare, the new light box is much brighter, but the diffuser is not as good

Less glare, kinda?
The pattern calls for #3 zippers, which I rarely use anymore, so I had to dig for that first! Fortunately, I remembered that I bought some by accident a while ago from
Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, along with some castle zipper pulls, so that guided my fabric choices. I needed something colorful and mouse house themed - and found some amazing clear vinyl in the stash from either Ohana or Hapa fabrics, then had to hunt for some "pretty, but not too busy" fabric for the back of the pockets and the lining.

The zipper is so cute and little compared to the ones I normally use!
In my Joann's collection I had some licensed Disney dog fabric that was perfect! I only used a small piece for the back, but I think it was pretty amazing how well it matches!
|
I guess Stitch is considered a dog...
The zippers do look wavy in the pics, but they actually lay flat. I can fit a lot of stuff in these pockets, and this would have been so amazing to have when I was in school!

See, mostly flat...
Don't forget to grab your copy of the
