Another Sneak Peek - Starlet Captivating Clutch

I finally finished another project (I kept getting distracted...) but this one needs to go off for the 'good' pictures, so just a quick sneak peek while we wait!
I'm pretty sure the flap is just wavy in the picture, not that I went wavy on the topstitching I was sewing at midnight...

WIP Wednesday (or Thursday) - Organize Everything!

Now that I finally finished the Beast bag, it's time to move on to the next thing on the list...or take a break and try to set up the rest of my craft studio!  After a 5 hour Ikea trip, I have a table top for my cutting station, a stool to use at it (or my kids will now have a place to sit as they hover and watch me sew), dividers for my vinyl shelves, and some more boxes for random organizing!  Now it just all needs put together....but I started at least!
Not a good shot, but the grey is a divider that hooks onto the middle of the shelf, so now the bottom vinyls might get less squished...maybe
Look at all that space for cutting...or activities!
Eventually the table top will be secured to the shelves -- hopefully pretty soon since I seem to stumble around and bounce off stuff when I'm doing late night sewing. There were so many other ideas of fun organizing I saw at Ikea, but with limited wall space (shelves for fabric!), I had to resist the urge to buy all the things.  Thursday is my birthday, so I'm taking a vacation day to do either everything I want, or nothing at all.  I haven't decided yet, but either way it will be awesome!

Current Projects:

  • Teacher purses (school's out, but they are willing to wait - fabrics all picked out, pattern printed and half cut out, goal is to finish before the end of July - in 5 days....)
  • Springs Creative projects (2) (One left, interfacing all prepped, need to cut the fabric!)
  • Swoon Sydney messenger bags for birthday presents (from April and May...)
  • Beast Bonnie Bucket Bag - Done!  Soon will be on the way to his new home

Current Crochet Projects:

  • WeeBee baby doll  -  Tail/bikini left.Just needs some face details, and maybe a swimsuit to wear when she's not in her tail...bikini sort of works...made up my own pattern and it's interesting...
  • Chunky Unicorn Blanket - almost finished up to the hood, then just ears, horn, and fringe!
  • Figuring out C2C (corner to corner) crochet with some random scarfie yarn...ran out of yarn before I finished!  Now to decide if I frog back with yarn that hates being undone, or buy another skein if I can find it...
  • Started the Mermaid tail towel, hopefully will come together fast since it using a giant hook and thick yarn.
  • Started working on cowls for the fall because they are mindless and fast...but I really should totally finish them, not leave them with tails and button-less...

Next Projects: (orders and using up fabric)

  • Handkerchief Purse
  • Bag of the Month - Done 2 so far, the Minifacto and the Starlet Clutch, I think I need to do at least 2 more before the end of the year

  • Tote bags using my coffee panels - India Swoon Pattern?
  • Baby quilt - Jungle Path pattern
  • Ruched Shirt

Beast Bonnie Bucket Bag

When I had a request for 'a purse with the Beast' from Beauty and the Beast, my mind went a mile a minute thinking of various fabric options.  Unfortunately there are no fabrics in my stash with ONLY the beast, or even with him as a focus, so I went for the next option - embroidery!  There are some amazing designs out there, some are just sketches, appliques, or even elaborate scenes.  Finally I ran across this awesome design from French Frills Embroidery and decided to go with it!

WIP/UFO Wednesday - The Best Laid Plans of Mice...

I had so many great plans to finish up things, get more things started, move the thing and the other thing...and it didn't happen.  I'm not sure where the time went, other than a weekend spent on a birthday party and hanging out, cleaning and unpacking, and occasionally sleeping.  Sleep is somewhat overrated.  Would you pass the coffee please?
More please.
I did something this week!  It's not finished....but it's something!

Challenge - UFO Stash Busting

Anyone interested in joining me for a UFO stash busting challenge?  I recently ran across my box of projects that were either cut and set aside, planned (including fabric and patterns printed) but never made it past that stage, or started and put in time out.  The box was pretty packed...

I see a Wisteria Wallet in there...
I know I have several of my projects listed in my Wednesday posts, but honestly, I run across so many new things that distract me from going back that without a challenge I doubt they will ever get finished...

Maybe I'll turn it into a competition....where the winners get MORE supplies or patterns...that seems like a good plan.  Or maybe some fabric from my extensive stash...I know the hubby would appreciate fabric leaving the house instead of just arriving to be added to my stash...

Comment and let me know if you would be interested in joining! What would motivate you to finish your UFO stash?

WIP/UFO Wednesday - Resisting the Urge to Go Overboard

It's almost time for another birthday party around here, which usually means last minute party favor crafting.  Somehow, I've managed to resist the urge - probably due to the fact that I'm surrounded by packed up boxes and piles of stuff that we need to decide where it will live... I feel like I'm neglecting this child, but we are going to be doing fun crafts at the party (rock painting and foam sticker things) so it won't be a totally craft-less party!
Soon I'll move on to another project...

WIP/UFO Wednesday - Distractions Galore!

Right now I'm in a crafting mood (I usually am...rarely in a cleaning mood though, how strange...) but I can't seem to focus on just one project.  Instead, I'm jumping from one thing to another and as soon as I hit a snag or find something shiny to distract me, I realize I've started yet another project!  This week I decided I wanted to make the Bonnie with the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, but when I decided my original glitter vinyl bottom didn't really go, I had to stop and find a new vinyl, and then find a new fabric to go with the already cut out vinyl.  It makes sense in my head. ;)
Cotton Lycra panel in kid sized...will be perfect for a purse!

Sneak Peek - Captivator Clutch in Starlett Size

It's time for me to work on another project for the Springs Ambassador program, so I can't share it all until I get the official pics back, but this time is definitely outside my usual zone - bandannas and bright orange and hot pink fabrics!  Here's a sneak peek of the first one, it's the Captivator clutch from the recently finished Bag of the Month Club!

Black and white pics are 'artsy' right?
