WIP Wednesday - It's the Little Things...

That are sucking up my time the most!  I keep thinking that they are 'super fast' projects and the next thing I know it's midnight and I'm sitting there with a half finished project on my sewing machine, trying to stay awake.
Super fast and adorable Mary Poppins pouch, need to make a few more, this combo was so sweet!

Oswald Triple Zip

I really thought I knew all the Disney characters, but I admit I am not familiar with Oswald!  That being said, he's kinda cute!  It's not often that I get an order for something I don't know at least a little bit about (except the newer toddler shows, most anime, some video games..ok, I can't keep up with EVERYTHING!), so this was a fun challenge!
He seems like a happy guy!

WIP Wednesday - Time to Kick It Up a Notch!

I finally was able to finish some 'big' projects last weekend, so I felt pretty productive!  Now to bust out a few more and then I might even be able to take some time to play with my fabrics and new patterns.
Not technically a 'big' project, but glad to have them done!

Brandt's Boulevard Sew Along - Step 5 - Inside!

Now that you've taken time to admire your finished exterior, time to get started on the hardest part!
My nearly finished inside, when you finish this step, that will be all sewn together!

Magic Hours Pegasus (XOXO by Lauren)

The Pegasus is a fast and fun cross body bag, especially if you leave off the split pieces on the outside! It is great for showing off my awesome fabric and a good size for carrying just enough stuff without getting bogged down with the kitchen sink.
So many fun details in this fabric!

Brandt's Boulevard Sew Along, Step 4 - Outside!

For the next part of the sew along we will be working on the outside.  When sewing the wrap around strap part, I like to mark my seam allowances on the pointy end to make sure it's nice and even.  I won't say how many times I've had to 'fix' my sewing when I got a little wild and wasn't paying attention, but it was enough times that I now mark it every time!
hey, my sewing is even mostly straight!

WIP Thursday - I Just Can't Even.

Once again the week is getting away from me!  This time I'll blame it on the time change, last minute art shows, tea parties, and crazy weather!

It's official, my kids are starting to outgrow the 'kid' movies because I have no idea who this character is...

Fantastic Princess Scorpio Tote (XOXO by Lauren)

As busy as I have been lately, I couldn't resist sneaking in a little selfish sewing when I saw this fun new pattern from XOXO by Lauren!  It's a fast bag and perfect for showcasing two (or three) of my favorite prints!
What's a group of Tardis (Tardii?) a Wibble? a Wobble?

Brandt's Boulevard Sew Along - Steps 1, 2 and 3!

It's time again for another sew along, and this time it's going to be the Brandt's Boulevard from ChrisW Designs!  I know we've done this a few times before, but it's a GREAT pattern and a quick sew (compared to say, the Penny Inn...) I hope you will join in if you've never done it, or if you'd done a million of them!
Last one I finished

WIP Thursday - Prep time

I have a ton of orders piling up, so I decided to try the mass production method of doing one step for everything all at once.  It kinda worked, I guess?  I am over halfway done with a bunch, instead of having only a few completely done...the outsides are fussy cut so that wasn't any faster, but the interfacing and linings were stacked and cut with as many as my rotary blade would go through at once (8 layers seemed to be the max)
Teeny backpacks in progress!

Over The Rainbow Denver Backpack (Swoon) - Moonbeam Textiles

I've been looking for an excuse to make a Denver backpack ever since I got the pattern as an exclusive from the Bag of the Month Club, and this strike off was the perfect project for it!
I want to try this with a true toss fabric, then it won't matter the direction I cut it!
