Owl Love - Epiphany by ChrisW Designs

Long, long ago (maybe last year?) I started to test the Epiphany Purse by ChrisW Designs...and I was nearly finished when my sewing machine decided to break several needles trying to do the final topstitching.  And by several needles, I mean about 9...putting the purse in time out helped me to not go through my entire needle stash, but it also meant that I moved on to new and more exciting projects and left the purse on the time out shelf for many, many months.  Part of my New Year's resolutions were to finish up my UFO projects, and this one is finally done!  My Juki HD3000 was able to finish the topstitching without breaking any more needles!
Shoulder straps are nice and long, but not too long.  ;)

Pretty Pony Emma by ChrisW Designs

The Emma pattern has been very popular with little girls, so when Christine updated it, I was excited to try the new version!  The updated pattern is a little bigger than the original and also includes a fun flap option!
Next time, lighter background will probably make the pink of the horses look truer...

WIP Wednesday/Thursday - Insanity Abounds

I signed up for a fun swap in the Blue Calla Sewing Group on Facebook, and instead of picking one pattern and making it, I decided to try to mass produce the purse in a bunch of fun fabrics! The pattern is the Magnolia Mini Messenger, but I think it's perfect sized to carry everyday!
Stormtrooper will have vinyl and Ariel will be all fabric

Springs Creative Ambassador Project - Dreamworks Trolls!

I love the character fabrics, and it seems like Springs Creative Brand is coming out with some really fun ones!  When I got the chance to work with their new Troll fabric, I jumped on it!  I tried to think of something fun and kid-oriented to make and I needed to get the project done ASAP, so it had to be something quick!
Love the beautiful pictures they take of my stuff!

Space - Boon Wallet from XOXO Lauren

I'm always on the lookout for new patterns and designers to try out, and I stumbled across this one in my many hours on FaceBook...It's a very fast and easy pattern, with just enough features to make it interesting!  The Boon pattern goes together very quickly and will be a great stash buster and table filler!
Even more shiny and glittery in person!

WIP Wednesday - Already?

Seriously, it's already Wednesday? Where is the week going?  I haven't had time to really sit down and work on much since last week was spent making 28 stuffed slimes for the Slime Rancher party!  They seemed to be a hit, but of course I forgot to get a picture of them all together...I'll have to round up the stragglers at our house and do a photo shoot.  ;)

Tula Pink Slow and Steady Line, with green and gold glitter matches perfectly!

Captain Bunny Beard - Polaris Bag by Sew Sweetness!

Early last year I decided that I would stay on top of the Bag of the Month club and actually get more of the patterns sewn, and on time!  (That didn't last very long...) One of the purses was the Polaris Bag by Sew Sweetness, and it's an adorable little purse!  It was pretty fast, but the curves with foam was a bit of a challenge because that was when Stormy (My Juki sewing machine) was starting to have some issues...I did finish the purse, but I never got around to attaching the handles to the purse.  Which is crazy because it was an easy finish!
He's sailing the stormy seas...

WIP Wednesday (or Thursday) - Slime Rancher Party Time!

This week's crafting is taking a back seat to the plans for a birthday party.  Since my kids have to be ahead of the trend, the theme for this one is "Slime Rancher"  which is a game they play on the computer.  I don't know much about it, other than they catch, raise, feed, and breed the slime to produce even more...slime.  At least they are cute!

Adorable Slime Rancher slimes...I'm pretty sure real slime is soft and cuddly, right?

SuperWhoLock Sydney by Swoon

I'm not a person to match my purse to my outfit, but sometimes I just feel like I'm ready for something new.  Usually I wear a purse for several months or even years, and I do have several purses I can switch between, but sometimes I just want something totally new (and it's a great excuse to try out my stash of pattern).  For this one, I decided to go for the Sydney by Swoon, which is a cross body style bag, with lots of fun details!  I love the Swoon purses because they have tons of style, but usually they don't have enough pockets for me!  This one breaks that mold with 3 pockets just on the outside!

WIP Wednesday - New Year, New List!

Ok, not really totally new, but I'm going to take off some things and add in other stuff...and keep my UFO list from my resolutions handy so I can force myself to finish!  Hopefully a smaller list is easier to keep track of and less intimidating. Of course to start it off right, I decided to do an entirely new project instead of anything from my list...

The embroidery patterns are a fun touch...

Wizard of Oz Window Shopper Tote

It's always fun getting a request for a new custom purse, and this time it was a bit of a challenge finding just the right fabric!  The Wizard of Oz fabrics are now out of print, so finding them takes some work!  We were lucky enough to discover some for reasonable prices on ebay and from one of my favorite shops (The Fabric Cobbler), so as long as I didn't screw it up, we'd be fine!  The Window Shopper Tote is a HUGE bag, so there was no room for error!  The pattern came from the Bag of the Month club, and this is the second one I've made!  (Check out the Cinderella one!  Available on Etsy!)
The panels are big, but they worked perfect with the giant size!

All the main characters!

2017 Resolutions and Craft Goals

My craft supplies are getting a bit out of hand again, so it's time to weed down and use up everything!  I'm still taking orders for custom purses and Etsy, so my thinning of the herd has to work around those things.  One year I made it my goal to finish 2 UFO's before I started a new project, and I was able to get quite a few things done that year!  I think I'll go for something similar this year...
Time out shelf...I think they've learned their lessons and are ready to play nice.
