Belle Siren Tote (XOXO By Lauren)

I love how fast and pretty the Siren tote from XOXO by Lauren is! Perfect for showing off large panels or fun fabrics, with just enough style to be interesting.

Pretty Mermaid Allure (ChrisW Designs)

The first time I made the Allure from ChrisW Designs was when I was testing the pattern, and even though it came together pretty nicely, there are always a few tweaks and changes that result from the testing.  If I make a pattern often enough, I usually start to make my own changes and mental notes, but it's been a while so this was like a fresh new pattern!

Silhouette Speedwell Sling Bag (Blue Calla)

I've seen several of these amazing bags popping up lately in various custom fabric groups, and while I did buy the Speedwell Sling pattern when it released, I just didn't have time to play around with it.
This Rapunzel and Pascal panel is a perfect fit

Mane Event Pick A Pocket Wallet (ChrisW Designs)

There are some custom fabrics that you really need to see in person to appreciate.  The first few times I saw the Mane Event (Backstitch fabrics), I thought it was cute, but not something I'd ever need.
Technically the back, but the best place to showcase the fabric!

WIP Thursday - It's All Fun And Games

...Until you realize you spend more time with the seam ripper than sewing...which was me this weekend.
Next wallet, hopefully much less seam ripping...

Tatspirational Annette by Swoon

I've been carrying my SuperWhoLock Sydney purse for a year now, and while I still love it, she's starting to show some wear and I'm ready to change up my style for a while.  I need a big purse, with lots of pockets, plus I have a stash of awesome fabric that I really bought for myself (but used my business as an excuse/justification). The search for the 'perfect' purse is never-ending but I think the Annette (affiliated link) is a good resting place!  I could use about a million more pockets on the outside, but I really like the clean look of this one and it's perfect for displaying amazing fabrics!
This side has some of my  favorites, Rapunzel, Lilo and Stitch, and Beauty and the Beast

WIP Wednesday - Last One of 2017!

Anyone ready for a new year?  I still have stuff I'm finishing up from several years ago, but new year means new lists...maybe some good crafting resolutions, like using up my stash or de-stashing things I no longer love... Hmm, too bad I love it all!

Tattooed Princess - India Hobo by Swoon

Recently there was a sew along in one of the custom fabric groups for the India pattern (affiliated link) from Swoon.  I love this pattern because it comes together SUPER fast, but has an interesting shape and is really comfortable to wear.   This is the smaller version, but still pretty roomy! I am so tempted to keep this one for myself, it would be perfect for shopping hands free, but I do have a stockpile of purses already...

Funny Faces Brandt's Boulevard Wallet - ChrisW World Tour

Welcome to your next stop on the ChrisW World Blog tour!  For my contribution, I picked the Brandt's Boulevard, which is one of my favorite wallets to make and also one of my most requested!  This is the first time I've ever tried it with custom knit fabric, but I think it turned out great!
This wallet is sure to bring a smile to your face!

WIP Wednesday - Time to get Spooky!

Soooooo... it's October in case you didn't notice.  Which means crunch time for Halloween costumes.  Guess I should get on that...soon.  To set the mood, here's a peek at the latest wallet under my needle, a Nightmare Before Christmas Wisteria Wallet.
Someday I'll be perfect at fussy cutting to show everything...someday!

WIP Wednesday - 10 Days of September Left!

Hey, September is almost over...which means October is right around the corner and that means Halloween costumes, craft fairs and Christmas presents....crap.  Is anyone actually ready for all that? If so, can I borrow your free time?  :D
I think I need to add a border on the edges, but other than that and maybe a flower at the neckline, done!

Things are Coming Together...Slowly

I was going through sewing withdrawal, but I was able to get a quick fix this weekend by doing a small convention at the local library.  I had great plans to get a ton of stuff prepared, but apparently moving takes a lot of effort and time...so I only got a few things cut out and then couldn't find the tool to put snaps on more keychains and bracelets...
bows, bookmarks, finger puppets, snap tabs, masks and crowns!

WIP Wednesday - Halfway Through March

Beware the Ides of March!  Especially if your name is Caesar....

If only he'd had a cute dog to warn him...
In other news, Things Are Getting Done. (yes, needs the caps)  I FINALLY finished up the Dachshund Pick a Pocket wallet!  Now I'm only 3 (purse) orders behind, and if you take into account that I have the interfacing cut for the second one already, I'm really even closer to caught up!  Of course I have several "When you have time we should get together and discuss my purse" orders, but they aren't definite yet so I'm not counting them!

Magnolia Mini Messenger Madness - #2 Ariel Love

The second Magnolia is done in all fabric, and I only had a limited amount of the tonal gradient one.  I love the colors, and they perfectly match the Ariel fabric!  I think it came from a Gelato Ombre half yard pack I found on Mass Drop.  I need to stockpile these, they are so gorgeous in person!
I love all the colors on this.  A LOT.
The ombre fabric is so gorgeous in person.

WIP Wednesday/Thursday - Insanity Abounds

I signed up for a fun swap in the Blue Calla Sewing Group on Facebook, and instead of picking one pattern and making it, I decided to try to mass produce the purse in a bunch of fun fabrics! The pattern is the Magnolia Mini Messenger, but I think it's perfect sized to carry everyday!
Stormtrooper will have vinyl and Ariel will be all fabric

Emma Purse By ChrisW Designs

Recently in the ChrisW Designs Pattern Facebook group we did a fun challenge - sew you stash with a twist.  Someone assigned you a random number between 1 and xxxx (depending on your stash size) and you had to count your fabric and then make a ChrisW pattern with that fabric.  My first number was 622, which ended me up on some cute Princess emoji fabric.  I wanted to sneak my sewing in between my orders, so this had to be a fast pattern.  Scrolling through the patterns, I ran across the Emma.  I'd never made her before, but she looked perfect for a little princess purse!

WIP Wednesday - Back to the Grind Stone!

Now that the Sew Along is complete and I'm not trying to squeeze a Serendipity Hip into the mix, it's time to get caught up on everything else!!  At least I have some stuff to mark off from last week...that's my favorite part of list making - crossing stuff out!

WIP: (Stuff sitting out on my work area and taking up space)

Sewing:

Serendipity Hip - Fabric needs ironed and cut, catch up to the SAL - or bust it out in a weekend! No longer going to worry about this, the fabric and pattern pieces will join the other planned purses in my 'eventually' bucket.  ;)

Swap Tote Bag - Totes Ma Tote Done, Shipped, and she loves it!

Brandt's Boulevard in skulls (x2 - different fabrics, another one in "Girly" fabric - need the first one by May1) Moving up on the list, because, hey, next week is May!!

Star Wars Tote Purse - fabrics picked out Also moving up because this is needed by June 1!

My new challenge purse may jump to the top of the line because it seems like so much fun!!
Challenge fabric #1 - counted in 622 fabrics to end up on the princesses...I might have a fabric addiction.  ;)

WIP Wednesday - Feeding the Stash Monster

I admit, I'm addicted to fabric.  It's so pretty, with all the colors and patterns, and then the textures - soft, satiny, rough, cuddly...  I figure it's better than being addicted to a controlled substance!  And since I spend my money on fabric, I'll never have money for drugs anyway.  ;)  I am trying to at least start cutting into and using my pretty fabrics, instead of just putting them into stacks everywhere around my sewing area... but they are coming out with awesome new stuff faster than I can sew it up!
This pretty princess sketch is new at Joann's.  I think it needs to be a purse or 2!

WIP Wednesday - Some Days It Doesn't Pay To Get Out of Bed

This last week has been pretty random...I wanted to finish the matching Harry Potter Always wallet, plus I had an order for a party's worth of pony ears.  25 sets of ears later (and only a slight high from all the glue - ventilation is important!) and I was ready to go back to the wallet.
These at least seem to be ok...
