Revisiting an old favorite - Necessary Clutch Wallet!

It has been a while since I made one of these, over a year in fact!  I had forgotten how fast they go together (once I remembered all the tricks) so now I'm inspired to try a few more with all the pretty fabric I've been hoard--er--collecting recently!  How about a cute princess wallet or a Star Wars or Star Trek one?  Or maybe just a fancy one?  So many ideas and so little time!

(A pretty font I found with butterflies! So cute!)

WIP Wednesday - End of May

This week's WIPs are all over the place - Finishing up a pattern test, snaps on an order of geeky key chains, presents from last month (oops!), random things for next month's craft fairs...

Crafts:

Snap tabs need snaps, some more need cut out...

Bella Sew Along And a little catch up

There is another sew along going on in the ChrisW Face Book group, so be sure to join in if you have the time!  I've never made the Bella, but I'm hoping to have some time to jump in soon.

May is always a busy month for me, we have birthdays galore and school drawing to a close, so everything goes into overdrive!

Here's a few things I worked on last week -

Serendipity Hip Sew Along - Finished with Mine!

I hope everyone is almost finished with their Serendipity Hip, the Sew Along is wrapping up TODAY and final prizes will be awarded.  I had so much fun sewing along with everyone and I hope we inspired those that were on the fence or intimidated.

I do love this little purse, it's so fun and fast to make!  Here's a few last glamor shots of the Sushi Bag.
(Happy fabric!)

A Little Serendipity Hip Eye Candy!

Instead of spamming more pictures of my own purse, here's a few pretties that others have finished in the Sew Along!  Check out their awesome work!

Pat's purse is so elegant! She couldn't wait for the sew along to start and finished hers a few months ago!

Check out the purses Jana finished!  That batik really catches your eye!  Her shop is Bubo Boutique

And I'm not saying that someone is an overachiever, but look at all the purses Tracey finished during the sew along!

I've been drooling over that far right fabric forever!  These all turned out great!  You can check out her Etsy store for your very own! and in the meantime, More Pictures!

WIP Wednesday - Final Week of the Serendipity Hip Sew Along!

(Since I can't figure out how to make the schedule post things, so you get this a day late, sorry! But you also get updates, so yay?)

You still have until next Monday at midnight to enter your purse in the album for a chance to win fabulous prizes, so don't procrastinate any more!
(Inside card pockets, waiting to be evened out and sewn. I swear the yellow is actually bright and cheerful, not sure why my camera took it like this!)

Doctor Who/Alice in Wonderland Concealed Carry Purse

I love making custom purses, everything from picking just the right fabric for the customer and choosing a pattern, to designing the pockets and embellishments, but this was a first for me, a concealed carry purse.  I'm too clumsy to carry a weapon around (I once injured myself trying to get a multi-tool out of the package...)  so I have no actual experience in the world of  concealed carry purses.  The recipient of the purse LOVES Doctor Who and when I showed her the awesome Spoon Flower fabrics by Karen Hallion, she fell in love with this fabric.  If it weren't so expensive, I'd probably own at least a yard of each of the fabrics, and just pet them.

Serendipity Hip Sew Along - Final Week!

This is the last week to finish up your purses and get them entered into the photo album for a chance to win fabulous prizes!  I finally got moving on mine, and am almost caught up!

(Look, the outsides are done!)

WIP Wednesday - Serendipity Hip Sew Along - Week 2

If you are following along, this is the week to start sewing!  This step should go pretty smoothly since this is a great and detailed pattern, but if you run into trouble, be sure to check in on the FaceBook group!  If you get on a roll and don't want to stop, go ahead and finish!  We only have 12 more days for the sew along, but that is plenty of time!

May The Fourth Be With You

Happy Star Wars day!  (if you didn't get it, it's a play on May the force be with you.  It took me a minute the first time I heard it...) Here's a cute little R2-D2 inspired bow I made last night...and forgot to wear today to celebrate my Geek Pride.  Rats.

Tomorrow should have some motivational shots of the Serendipity Hip Sew along, as soon as I take them!

Doctor Who Campfire Messenger Bag or, How Much Awesome Can One Bag Contain?

I've been dreaming of an awesome bag for myself that shows my love for the TV series Doctor Who, and now that Joann's Fabric FINALLY carries some of the licensed fabric, my dreams came true!  I'm pretty sure I could have squeezed in a bit more, but I also wanted to finish the purse eventually!
