UFO/WIP - Where did February go??

Somehow February has FLOWN by, and while I have some things finished, not nearly as many as I hoped to get done.

WIPs on the sewing table:

Crayon rolls - need to be marked and sewn.
My Little Pony Hobo bag - Using the Laney pattern by Swoon, actually pretty easy but I just haven't had time to sit down and finish it!
(This is going to be centered on one side of the purse, and there are 2 other MLP fabrics that will show up!)

Teeny Tiny Tins of CUTENESS!

I've always loved small stuff, in high school I even collected miniature ceramic figures we'd find on vacation.  I had a tiny pail of spilled milk with a kitten lapping it that was one of my favorites.  I haven't seen those around much lately (Maybe because I don't seem to go on vacation to places that have them?) but I still love 'little' things.  These tins fill my 'teeny' need and they are something that can actually be played with, not just admired and dusted!  Using my embroidery machine to make them is just a bonus because I just pick the materials and read a book while it goes to work!  I found the patterns at Sewing for Sarah on Etsy.

(Three of the designs, next time I think the finger puppet animals and mermaid might need some applique!)

Betty Bowler by Swoon (better pictures!)

I really do love how this bag turned out, simple yet so pretty!  I may have to make a few more - I have some glitter canvas begging to be used on a purse!  The Swoon patterns are so elegant, and this one was MUCH faster than the Stella diaper bag!

Giant Library Tote of Holding - Nancy Drew Style!

A while ago I discovered they made Nancy Drew fabric.  I LOVED those books growing up, so I had to have some!  Unfortunately I didn't find out about it until it had been out for a while and was getting scarce.  I was able to find a charm pack of the fabric, but then I faced the dilemma of what to make with it!  Not enough to make a quilt, didn't really NEED another purse, hoarding it was an option, but really, I should use it.... but then I had a brilliant (even if I do say so myself) idea of making a library bag!

(Book Fabric!! It was meant to be!)

Sneak Peak - Betty Bowler Bag!

I am trying to practice taking good pictures, but sometimes I just get too excited and want to share a finish!  I did this Betty Bowler (Swoon Pattern) this weekend and it turned out so pretty! By the time it was done, and I was ready to take pictures, we were in the middle of a snowstorm, so no good light.  But in the meantime, here are a few pictures to hold you over!
(Front, in pretty much true colors, I love the deep purple and that the zipper matches!)

WIP Wednesday (ok, Thursday, but what's one day late between friends?)

Now that the Sugar and Spice is FINALLY finished, I can work on my next project!  If you are still working on yours, don't forget to upload a picture to the photo album in the facebook group!

My latest project is the Betty Bowler bag by Swoon.  This is my first time making it, and while it is large, it doesn't have twenty-seven million pieces like the last Swoon bag I did.  This one is for an order, but I love the colors and fabric we picked!

(Purple dots will be the lining and the white and black is the main outside fabric)

Sugar and Spice Sew along - Final week!!

The sew along is coming to a close, so time to kick it into high gear if you haven't finished yet!  Don't forget to add your pictures of the finished bag to the photo album in ChrisW Designs Pattern Group.  We still have 2 more prizes for this week, then the GRAND prize will be chosen from the finished ones!  Mine is finally finished, and quickly photographed.  There was an incident with a dog escaping and being chased around a park, so I only got a few pictures.

Gemini Pouch - Pattern testing plus you can get it for FREE!!

Once again I was able to test out a design for Christine of ChrisW Designs.  This one is a super fast and fun pouch, and the best part? You can get it for free if you join the facebook fan group!  This pouch is great for showcasing some embroidery or small bits of your favorite fabrics. Or trying out new fabrics!
(Note to self, next time use a color that stands out more.)

WIP Wednesday - Still more of the Sugar and Spice bag!

Yep, still working on my bag.  I haven't had much time yet this week to finish it, but I WILL finish it!  It taunts me every time I walk past the table.  I've checked the straps to make sure they will be a good length, started cleaning off the ironing board (and then piling more stuff on it and cleaning it off again), and haven't lost the rivets (again), so it's just a matter of sitting down and finishing!

(I figured everyone was getting tired of the purse pictures since they aren't really changing much right now)

Sugar & Spice Sew Along - Next to last week!

I hope by now you have started your purse, and maybe even finished it!  Mine is about 90% completed, just need to sew the turning hole, attach the straps, and put in the bottom stabilizer piece!  It's so close I have already started planning my next project!
