WIP Wednesday - Time To Kick It Into High Gear!

I really want to get my pile of projects down to a manageable stack, plus get started on all my other planned ones...but instead I signed up for a spring tote swap and to lead the next ChrisW sew along.  Yeah...I'm slightly insane...Or maybe I need a Time Turner like Hermione had in Harry Potter...I would only use it for good, I swear!
Dug out my youngest child's bow stash so I could take pics for Etsy...she has a lot of bows!

Pillowcases For Everyone!

I'm not sure how, but pillowcases and socks seem to disappear in our house.  Maybe the sock gnomes have branched out?  In any case, a shortage of pillowcases means that I get to make new ones from my fun fabrics!
Pretty pillowcases all in a row

WIP Wednesday - Another Week Flew Past!

I had hoped to finish the Window Shopper Tote from the Bag of the Month club last weekend, but that didn't happen.  Just have the inside to sew and putting it all together!  I seem to be underestimating how long things will take to finish lately...probably not a good thing when my list keeps growing...  I can't wait to finish it and then I'll start on something new, if I can decide which pattern is calling me more.  I made a giant list of what I should work on, alternating finishing projects with new ones, but I might skip around on it a bit.  Right now I have no orders pushing me along so I can take my time and do something I want, maybe even something for myself!
It's starting to grow on me -- must resist urge to keep it!

Teddy Bear Lovey by One and Two Company - and a pattern review.

For a recent baby shower, I purchased the pattern for this adorable bear lovey.  Since this was for a baby shower, I had no time to procrastinate like usual...  The blanket took me forever, but I'm also a slow hooker.  ;)  And since I somehow did manage to procrastinate, I never had time to get glamour shots!
He's waving hello!

WIP Wednesday - Feeding the Stash Monster

I admit, I'm addicted to fabric.  It's so pretty, with all the colors and patterns, and then the textures - soft, satiny, rough, cuddly...  I figure it's better than being addicted to a controlled substance!  And since I spend my money on fabric, I'll never have money for drugs anyway.  ;)  I am trying to at least start cutting into and using my pretty fabrics, instead of just putting them into stacks everywhere around my sewing area... but they are coming out with awesome new stuff faster than I can sew it up!
This pretty princess sketch is new at Joann's.  I think it needs to be a purse or 2!

Snape (Harry Potter) Always Wallet - Another Pick A Pocket

This is turning out to be one of my most popular wallet patterns to make, but this is the one that caused me so much grief...  It's finally on the way to the customer, so glad to finally finish it!!

The 6 Stages of Sewing Grief

There are 5 stages to dealing with grief due to loss, but I'd like to propose the 6 stages of dealing with a sewing project that just doesn't go right...And I went through most of them last night.  I'm still working on the 'acceptance' stage.
Crafting Grief can sneak up on you...looks how nice this topstitching turned out!

And then..WHAM!  Oh, I'm sorry, did you NOT want it to look like I chewed on the thread before I stitched it down?

Large Embroidered Zippered Pouch - Tutorial

Don't let a zipper intimidate you, these aren't that hard to make!  If you have a zipper foot, some patience, and a bit of fabric, you can get over your fear of zippers.  (Is that Zipaphobia?)

This large pouch is handy for lots of stuff - school supplies, crochet and knitting supplies, random junk that usually gets lost in larger bags...  And they are a fun way to show off embroidery or fancy fabric you love!  The finished size is approximately 10"x11" and there are tons of modifications you could add in.
Amazing Urban Threads embroidery designs make my projects even cooler!

WIP Wednesday - Some Days It Doesn't Pay To Get Out of Bed

This last week has been pretty random...I wanted to finish the matching Harry Potter Always wallet, plus I had an order for a party's worth of pony ears.  25 sets of ears later (and only a slight high from all the glue - ventilation is important!) and I was ready to go back to the wallet.
These at least seem to be ok...
