The
Denver Backpack (affiliate link) from Swoon is a fun shape and surprisingly roomy! This gorgeous Starry Night inspired fabric from
Hapa is a great example of how custom fabric is not just limited to pop culture and cartoons! It doesn't have any hidden geeky aspects, just a pretty pattern inspired by the original painting.
Perfect for the Van Gogh experience, or just Gogh-ing around town. Yes, I did that. |
Side shot, kinda skinny since it's empty |
Back view, I try to avoid vinyl backs, they just make me sweaty! |
Of course, a Starry backpack NEEDS to have yellow zippers and star zipper pulls, right? I know the zippers came from
Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, but the zipper tape might have been a project pack or from some other group.
I really love the buckle D rings from Wizardry, fancy but lightweight! |
The Egyptian blue vinyl from My Punkbroidery was a perfect match to this fabric. For some reason I stockpiled several rolls of it, so now I shouldn't run out even if I did use it on every starry or doctor who project for the next few years...
As it is filled to the brim, the bottom will flatten out and be more rounded |
The lining is a blue Uncorked, and I still regret not buying a bolt of this shade, it's so perfect for so many projects! If I ever run across it in a little quilt shop, you can bet I'll buy what I can.
Wide shot, actually a little washed out, but you get the idea |
Inside the pocket, better representation of the color |
The Denver has 2 side zipper pockets, and a roomy inside, which if you undo the clip, holds even more! I didn't get a fully stretched out shot this time, but I probably have it for other versions of this backpack...somewhere. I would make extra of this style to have on hand, but I still have the Wizard of Oz one waiting to find the right home, even after I put it on sale a few times! I really need to clear out the older bags so I have room to make new stuff.
Inside is just a giant roomy space, no pockets to catch on anything. |
I don't have any more of this fabric left, but I have TONS of other options if you'd like to
order your own custom
Denver Backpack!
does anyone else see a face? Maybe it's just me... |
