Carousel Saddle Bag - Knitorious Fabric and Swoon Patterns

 I really love the opportunity to sew up fun fabric and share it around, even when my life is super hectic and I have to rush! This fun fabric is part of the World of Magic round available for preorder right now at Knitorious Fabric! I thought a saddle bag was a fun way to show off this adorable panel, so I used the Sandra Saddle Bag (aff link) pattern from Swoon.

It's a saddle bag, because she's riding a sea HORSE... I amuse myself sometimes.

The coordinate fabric is super cute!

The Sandra has minimal pockets, just a zipper pocket in the back and a front slip pocket, but I changed it up a little so the connector is a magnet on the inside of the flap instead of the outside. I didn't want to hide any of the awesome panel!

The main fabric is a cute carousel print, with princesses riding the different sidekicks and creatures from their movies. It has been so long since I've been to the parks that I can't remember if there is an actual carousel there, but I feel like there is?

I had a bunch of good options for zippers and pulls, but after asking for opinions, I ended up using this gorgeous purple rainbow, with a pretty rainbow castle from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts. 

The rainbow hardware is so shiny!

I needed to get this bag done asap, so I cheated and used a webbing strap with connectors. I'm not sure if it's the 'best' match to the purse, but if I find one better, I can easily switch it out! Also, the colors on it are really nice and the dark background helps to hide dirt, so maybe it will stay! I really love those buckle D rings from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, they are lightweight, sturdy, and don't flip around! (flipping D rings is my pet peeve)
