I quilted around the outline with some variegated purple cotton thread, then used pre-made satin binding and a wide zig-zag to attach it. I did 2 rows of zig-zag to hide my slight wandering... Back is super soft micro-fleece, first time I'd used it, so I'm hoping it lasts!
She also NEEDED some tiny Tink shoes, which I crocheted from a baby slipper pattern and made sparkly white pom poms for the toes. I need to find some pretty white ribbon and then she'll be able to hang them on the wall after the baby outgrows them, so they double as decoration. Or if you are my kids, you steal them and stuffed animals start wearing shoes.
And then to top it off, I decided a Tinkerbell lovey was in order. I'd never made these before, they are part mini blanket, part amigurumi doll. This pattern was great, even included the bangs and wings! More sparkly white yarn was used for the wings, and Caron Simply Soft was used for the hair. Body and dress were done in Red Heart Soft. I left off the face, my embroidery skills aren't that great and I think it's cuter this way anyway!
(She kind of stands up on her own even!)
I can't wait to make more of these loveys, so cute!!
I'm glad to say she LOVED the present, and I had so much fun making them! Now she just needs a newborn sized tinkerbell dress, and I can only imagine the cute photos!
Oh, my! I love your Tinkerbell! You're an artist :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree... she NEEDED those shoes hehehehe!
Can I have a pair for me to??
Thanks for sharing,

Aww, thanks! I wish I could take credit for the pattern, but it came from here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pretty-princess-lovey and was a great pattern!
DeleteLOL! They were super fun to make, but so tiny! I forgot how tiny baby feet are.
