Tiki Annette (Swoon)

It's been a while since I made my Annette, but I still get compliments (The Target cashiers identify me by it LOL!) and couldn't wait to make another one!

Fire dancing stitch is my favorite!
I love this Stitch Tiki fabric from the Hapa custom fabric group! It's super bright, fun and colorful!  I thought the purple vinyl might end up being too boring to go with it, but it's actually a perfect compliment and great accent!  It's a little softer than the glitter vinyl (texture and finish), and grabs my sewing machine a little less.  I still had to use the Teflon foot, but my Janome HD3000 had no trouble going through the layers!  I could have sewn the handles, but I really liked how they looked with the rivet holding them.  Of course, after I sent it off I had a sudden moment of paranoia that the rivet will pop off at some point, but I'm crossing my fingers that doesn't happen!
No wait, ukulele stitch is my favorite!
The Annette from Swoon (affiliate link) comes in 2 sizes, someday I might try the huge one, but the small one is perfect handbag sized!
Stitch is peeking up from the pocket, with a connector attached to his hat...not my best placement!
With all the bright and bold outside, a single color lining was actually a good choice and will make it easier to find things inside.  I had to add in a splash of color tho, so the slip pocket ended up with more Tiki Stitch. ;)
Slip pocket, did it in gusset style
Zipper pocket.  I had the perfect color in my stash!

I love these rainbow zipper ends from Emmaline bags, they are the perfect finish to my rainbow zippers!  I'm going to be so sad when I run out of the pretty zipper pulls, but I have a stash of the zipper tape!

I have one more Annette on my order list in a Star Wars fabric, but if I were smart, I'd cut an extra set of interfacing so I can make a spare to list on etsy...I even have an idea which fabrics I'd love to use!
