Puppy Pile Sydney (Swoon)

It seems like my purse orders focus on a few favorite patterns, with new ones mixed in here and there.  The Sydney from Swoon (aff link) is one of the 'tried and true' favorites, and I've made it so many times that I even have a (homemade) template for some of the pieces so I can fussy cut them.

The colorful puppies really pop against the grey and black!

This bag has a LOT of structure

Most of the Sydney that I make have the expanded gusset so they hold a little bit more. I think this was the first time I've done a glitter vinyl gusset and bottom, but it wasn't that much extra work. The vinyl is a grey from My Punkbroidery.

I really should save labels, no idea what color that vinyl is...

This adorable puppy pile fabric is from Hapa, and I used part of a panel for the back pocket. I like to leave the back pocket as one big pocket, that way it fits entire sheets of paper without folding!

The panel is larger scale, but we go the 'best' ones on there!

This small scale fabric really lets me get a BUNCH of different puppies on every piece!

Dalmatians on the other pocket flap
Stitch snuck under this flap!
For the lining, we went simple with a solid black fabric. I always add in extra slip pockets to give a little more organization.  A pen slot is super handy!

Zipper pocket, grey zipper to coordinate

Really, there are pockets! and  a sneak of the matching wallet...

The hardware on this bag is all Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, from the nightmare zipper tape, to the buckle D ring connectors! I used a simple circle zipper pull which is a perfect rainbow accent that doesn't detract from the fun print!

Even got some of the awesome color of the zipper!

Entire set, which included a matching sanitizer case and keyfob!
This order also included a matching Penny Inn, so watch for that post coming soon! The Penny Inn is not one I make very often, so it will get a separate post!

  1. Thank you for sharing this amazing bag with us! I love it. I wasn’t around for this preorder, but I was lucky enough to score some of the print in bst. Wish I had a panel but I do have the coordinating fabric. Maybe I’ll just appliqué a puppy to the pocket...hmmmm

    1. Usually the panels are too big for my purses, but I was able to use part of one! I have the rest saved for 'something' and maybe someday I'll even use it! ;)
