Space Schematics Bangle Dangle (ChrisW Designs) Pattern Testing!

I was fortunate enough to be picked to test this adorable new pattern from ChrisW designs! The Bangle Dangle is a cute little bag with so much organization and tons of pockets! The best part? This new release is on sale for a 15% discount with the code 15bangledangle until midnight Monday, March 21, Australian EST!

The Falcon barely fit on the flap, but I love it!
Back view, zipper pocket and my label!
I knew I wanted to feature something small and cute, and then I remembered how I keep buying the Adult Everywearable panels from Ohana Fabric with no real project in mind (Collecting fabric is a totally legit hobby) and I decided to see if they would work for this pattern.  They DID! I used one panel to fussy cut my flap so it showed off the schematics perfectly, then another panel for the outside pieces. It was just barely enough! I have scraps left of both panels, but I made them work!

This is the leftover fabric after cutting my pieces, still have 7 more panels left on this yard!

The base is actually nice and structured to provide support!

I found a perfect grunge purple fabric in my stash for the lining, and now this bag has ALL my favorite colors! My hardware is from a few places, the awesome metallic purple and iridescent zipper tape and buckle D rings are from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts. The fun zipper pulls came from Zor-Elle. The strap is from Glitterbug Fairy.

You might guess I love purple... and do you see the phone in that back area? Perfect fit!

The inside has a zipper pocket, zippered divider pocket, 2 separate areas, AND a card pocket!

The divider is sewn in completely, no gaps for mixing!

Somehow I have tons of (empty) Starbucks cards since I love coffee...

Another view, you can almost see the front inside zipper pocket

See, functioning middle zipper pocket
The pattern has instructions for a fancy strap (and I wish I had that hardware on hand, it looks awesome!) but I decided to dig in my stash and found a premade strap that was a great match! I usually make my own since it's hard to know what colors I'll need ahead of time, but these were on sale and I grabbed a bunch. I also made the wrist strap, but then realized I didn't have the right hardware for the fun back connector (and my brain couldn't think of another way to add it) so instead you can switch from shoulder strap to wrist strap.

The wrist strap would be great for an evening out when you want to hang onto your clutch

I even remembered to add on my tag! I put it on the back because I love the flap and didn't want to cover up the fun print! I used one of the new sewing strings from Wizardry, Stitchery, and Crafts, a purple variegated one (Ube) that blended in and sometimes contrasted nicely!

I stopped during construction to take this picture because it made me so happy.

Ube - and this is after using it for many projects, it's a GIANT spool!

Back all finished, the tag almost blends in!

For being such a small bag, this purse is pretty amazing!

I remembered to get the inside of the flap right side up, but that writing is very tiny!

I decided to have some fun with the pictures and try to show how adorable this tiny bag is, so first I went for a Porg for scale...which didn't really seem to help but was fun!

The porg is pretty small...

Then I remembered I have a Princess Leia and Ewok I could use for scale. I'm not really sure it helped...

At least the ewok seems happy about the purse

Don't forget to grab your copy of the Bangle Dangle pattern, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! And if you want to order a custom one, I'll have this one available for sale and will be taking orders for more! I can't wait for an excuse to make another one!

I have so many other versions of these panels I should make!

  1. Ok the photos of this bag at Chris W is what brought me over to your blog. This fabric is AMAZING! I went to Ohana Fabric but they appear to not be open? It says 4/21 but it's 4/28. Blah! Anyway, this bag is gorgeous and I'm going to buy the pattern too. I'll be visiting you regularly!
