It wouldn't be May with out a fun new Star Wars inspired round at KNITorious Fabrics, and this is one of the new designs for this year! The Minni Mini Backpack from DiedleBug designs worked great to show off the cute fabric! It's not my favorite pattern due to calling for a drop in lining, but I was able to modify it and make it work.

| She really works as a cat |

The backpack has some roomy outside pockets on the side -- I left off the elastic since it doesn't make them close that much and made the sides look strange to me.
 |
| Other side view - this backpack holds a lot! |
The Snips fabric is canvas, which gives it a nice weight and makes the outside a little stronger, but is still easy to sew! I'm not sure how to describe the background color, it's a brown/red/purpley deep gorgeousness that goes so nicely with the orange kitty cats. Not surprisingly, I didn't have any matching colors in my stash to use for the lining, but I think the Snips Damask (also
Knitorious, but from my collection) is a nice contrast that ties in with the theme.

| I love my holographic labels from Laser Llama! |
It was hard to pick a favorite pose to feature on the front, but I think the box one won my heart!
 |
| Kitties in boxes are the BEST! |
I wanted to get the cute sleeping one in too, but she ended up on the bottom.
 |
| Sort of hidden sleeping kitty |
There is a single zippered pouch pocket on the front of this bag. I didn't have a zipper that matched exactly, so I went with the blue teeth to match the lightsabers. The only zipper pulls that seemed to match (and I had enough) were the Jedi symbols.
 |
| Non-matching hardware is FINE. |
The backpack has adjustable straps without a hanging tail, so I needed some webbing to finish it off. Fortunately, I found a rainbow Star Wars print in my collection.
 |
| I think it's a fun accent |
 |
| But the top of the strap is just pretty! |
Inside, the backpack only has a single zipper pocket, but it's nice and roomy!
 |
| The zipper pull on the left blends in, but it's the shiny silver |
Be sure to check out all the amazing new designs and returning classics at Knitorious!
