Snips Kitties Mini Backpack - KNITorious Fabric

It wouldn't be May with out a fun new Star Wars inspired round at KNITorious Fabrics, and this is one of the new designs for this year! The Minni Mini Backpack from DiedleBug designs worked great to show off the cute Tano Cats fabric! It's not my favorite pattern due to calling for a drop in lining, but I was able to modify it and make it work.

She really works as a cat

Truth is Out There Celine Tote Bag - Knitorious Fabric Strike

I don't know about you, but circle bags are a little intimidating to me. With patience, many staples, and some seam ripping, I can make them work, but it's not my favorite shape to make. That being said, the bagmaker panels from Knitorious Fabric are super fun and cute, so I was willing to attempt it. Fortunately for me, I realized I don't HAVE to make it a circle! With a little bit of planning and some patchwork sewing, I was able to turn it into a fun tote bag, the Celine from Swoon!

The inside of my light box looks a little like a spaceship, so I decided to embrace it.

Lou SW Blossoms Regina Phalanges Traveler Tote - Knitorious Fabric and Sincerely Jenn Patterns

Have you ever seen a fabric and just thought "WOW!!"? This Lou SW panel and coordinating fabric from Knitorious Fabrics totally blew my mind! It's almost TOO fancy for what I usually sew, so I had to find the perfect bag to show it off!

Outdoor pic since it's green again!

Flappy Duncan Messenger Sling - Snow Willow Designs Fabric and Sincerely Jen Patterns

The lesson I learned with this project was, 'don't give me an excessive amount of time to prepare' because I will STILL procrastinate until the last minute. I've had the String Theory Funky Bunch 2: Electric Boogaloo fabric since last year, and it took me forever to settle on a pattern, then even longer to cut out all the pieces! Once I started sewing, it wasn't too bad (except for midnight sewing where I was THISCLOSE to attaching the gusset upside-down!) and I'm really glad it's finished!

I'm pretending the wrinkles add character, which is the justification I give for not ironing my clothes...

Berserk Carter Messenger Bag - Knitorious Fabric and Swoon Patterns

I got to play with some of the new fabric from Knitorious that is open for preorder for just a few more days! The Anime round has a bunch of fun designs, and so many bases!  I haven't watched Berserk, but according to my local experts, this fabric is pretty great. This was my first time using nylon repel, but I can definitely see myself using it again! It was a little slippery, but the thicker backing on it meant that I could skip one layer of interfacing and save a little time. I decided that this fabric needed a bold design to show it off, and found the Carter Messenger from Swoon!

I played around with my photo editor to try to get a better background than my new lightbox

Tangled Stitch Opal Organizer (The Styled Magnolia) - Oh So Pretty Fabric

I really wanted a project to show off the Glossy Glitter vinyl (Mint to Be color) and Tangled 626 fabric that I got from Oh So Pretty Fabrics, and it needed to be quick...Opal Organizer from Styled Magnolia to the rescue!

This would be so fun with embroidery or a fun panel, but it's pretty in the glittery vinyl, too!

Adventurer Gerbera Clutch - Moon Beam Textiles (Blue Calla)

I am totally loving the tiny scale of the latest round for Moon Beam Textiles! The Lord of the Rings inspired fabric is so beautiful anyway, but make it small, and it's PERFECT for little projects!

I don't need to keep this one, right?

Bunk Pegasus Cross Body Bag (XOXO by Lauren) Moon Beam Textiles

The Moon Beam preorder this month is so SHINY!  If you are a fan of Firefly, this is right up your alley!

The only Firefly accessory I have in my house is a tiny Kaylee...hmmm....

Gamer Denver Backpack (Swoon) - Moon Beam Textiles

Once again I was fortunate and got picked to sew up some promo fabric for MoonBeam Textiles!  This round is epic gamer stuff, and while I'm not really a table top gaming(unless it's board games, love those!), I am still really liking the fabric!
I think I need to get my own dice. For reasons.

The next project using the latest preorder fabric now available from Moon Beam Textiles is a simple but roomy tote!
This is the adult sized panel, easily centered it on the tote!

The second project (but technically first one completed) for my Moonbeam strike sewing is the Minimalist wallet.  I love how fast this one comes together and the unique style!

WIP Thursday - May the 4th Be With You!

Once again it's time to celebrate my nerdiness...With Star Wars day!  And what better way than with new fabrics!  I didn't have time to turn these into anything amazing (yet), but I have plans.  BIG plans.
Awesome shirt panel from Backstitch fabrics

I am a Springs Creative Ambassador!

Somehow I was lucky enough to be selected as a Fabric Ambassador for Springs Creative Brand and I'm still pinching myself!  Being a fabric ambassador means that I get to play with pretty fabric and create whatever I want with it!  There are a few of us around the country, and we all have different skills and favorite projects, so it's very exciting to see what everyone decided to make!  For the first project, were giving the choice of different lines from the Mary Fons Small Wonders line, and I chose the Japanese line.  The colors are so rich and the patterns are beautiful!
Love the vibrant colors!!
My finished projects!

Doctor Who inspired Ethel - Through Time And Space Fabric Preview!

When I was given the opportunity to make a purse to help debut a new line of fabric, I JUMPED at the chance!  This would be my first purse in a 'professional' setting and I would get to see fabric before the majority of the public, so what was there to say "No" to?  HUGE thanks to Scarlett Wells for letting me take part in this awesome project!
Professional Picture from the fabric line release - look how fancy it makes my purse seem!
