I'm sure I'm not the only crafter/sewologist/hooker/knitter/etc going full tilt and skipping out on sleep (I'll sleep in January). Someday I'll be better at planning and setting realistic deadlines, but for now, the rush of last minute crafting is part of the fun! Or, I could be at the stage of sleep deprivation where I'm loopy...although that usually that hits me at 4 am and I haven't stayed up that late, yet.

It really is crooked, the way it's laying on the machine makes it look straighter!

That little angry face was me last night... |
One drawback of working into the wee hours of the night is the increase in time I spend with the seam ripper. I never did find Jack, even after the move, but his replacement, Jack Jr. has been picking up the slack. And I did go buy another one just in case junior wanders off as well... he's narrowly missed impaling my foot a few times when he made a run for it off the edge of the table...someone needs to invent a seam ripper with a flat side so it doesn't roll everywhere, but is still ergonomic/comfortable to hold... I'm about to attack mine with a Dremel and mod it myself.

Iridescent unicorn hat is kind of awesome. |
This has apparently been a hat week...I finished up the embroidered unicorn hat and then
Patterns For Pirates released a Christmas freebie. It's a 4 in 1 hat, goes from hat to cowl to headband to messy bun hat! I cut into my pretty rainbow sparkle cotton lycra fabric to try it out. On me, the headband is too tight, but the hat and messy bun one fit great. Cowl is a bit snug, but would be warm! My youngest claimed it already and once we practiced a few times, she can now turn it from hat to headband like a pro! She's been wearing it around her neck at home and in school even though she claims she's 'not cold'. (she also was wearing her pants rolled up to capri length this morning because she was 'hot' even though it was only 19 degrees outside...)

Headband style...but the busy pattern makes it look like a pile of fabric. At least it's pretty! |
