(You too can make this purse!) |
Timeline:
January 12 (or earlier) -- Buy the pattern. Read the Pattern. Print the Pattern Pieces. Read the Pattern again. Don't panic if you get confused, as you are making the bag things will suddenly make sense. Or if they don't you can get help in the group. Buy your supplies.
January 12-19 - Cut the pattern pieces, fuse the interfacing on. This will be the longest part of the process, at least in my experience. Pop in a good movie or some music you love so you can listen while you iron. Make sure to have the fusible sides against the fabric and not the iron. Or the ironing board. Long story short, I now have a new ironing board cover.
January 19-February 13th - SEW LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW!! Or just sew the pieces together like normal. Don't forget to take pictures of your finished bag and enter it into our album on Face Book for a chance to win PRIZES!!
Be sure to check out everyone involved in the Sew-Along! (I'll be updating this space as we get others blogging about the sew along!)

Thanks for doing the sew along. Pattern purchased, downloaded and printed. Just need to quit dithering and finish selecting fabrics from my stash.
ReplyDeleteFabric choice is the hardest part I think! Can't wait to see what you decide to use!
Delete(I thought I posted??) Tip of the day:
ReplyDeleteDon't cut up your excess until you have double checked your piece count.. ask me how I know.. nah.. don't cause I am headed out to the store now...
Oh no!! I print out the text only part of the pattern and check off or cross out each piece as I cut it, just so I don't forget anything! At least you can go get more!
DeleteI do too, and then when I;m done I go back over it again and recount.. but I already cut up the leftovers!! I forgot and cut the straps out of the exterior so I had JUST enough of the exterior.. and I guess I didnt compensate when buying the fabric I'd need a touch more for of the lining for the straps and 1 pocket..
