Once again I was fortunate and got picked to sew up some promo fabric for
MoonBeam Textiles! This round is epic gamer stuff, and while I'm not really a table top gaming(unless it's board games, love those!), I am still really liking the fabric!

I think I need to get my own dice. For reasons. |
I even borrowed some of my husband's dice to make the photos more interesting...and nearly lost one of them in the process. Of course it was the 4 sided pyramid one that is worse to step on than a lego, but we found it eventually, and not even with our feet!!
|
Probably my favorite feature, the little d20 fit perfectly! |
The pattern is the
Denver backpack from Swoon, a really cool/stylish design that shows off fabric nicely and comes together pretty fast! (affiliate link)

I was tempted to use my floral skulls, but felt the plain went better with this bag |
The awesome skull zipper pulls and gunmetal zippers are from
Wizardry, Stitchery, and crafts, and I definitely should have bought more!! This backpack used up 3 of them! I cut my side zippers at 12 3/4" since I was using zipper tape, and I still had about a half inch gap at either end of the side pockets. I think next time if I cut them at 13 1/4" they should go all the way to the edges! It still worked out since there is a 1/2" seam allowance, and maybe even made it easier to sew.

a zoomed out pic, you can see this is not a small bag! |
This is the large size, and it does fit in full sized gaming books, but they are HEAVY! I need to make a note in my pattern that I should make the straps wider, and add in padding...I tried it on with just 3 of the hardback books inside, and then I remembered how heavy backpacks can be... And then I started wondering just how strong fabric really is and if I need to have a weight limit on backpacks that I sell because I worry about them getting overstuffed and not being able to handle that...but I do carry a ton of stuff in my purses and they seem to be handling it ok.
|
It does open wide enough to fit in a book, but if you try to shove a bunch in at once, it takes a little wiggling. |
I used all Moon Beam fabric for this bag, the dragon scales are from a few rounds back and they were a perfect coordinate! The great thing about having so much fabric from the same company is that they are so much more likely to coordinate and be similar colors! Perfect excuse to stockpile more, right?

Dragon scale side pocket, nice and roomy! |
|
cotton lycra panel, love the galaxy background! |
The exterior and interior are the quilting cotton (cotton woven) fabric, and the back is a cotton lycra panel, which I'm a little sad will hide as you wear it, but when it's sitting on a table, you can totally position the backpack to show it off!

Origami style dragons are pretty awesome! |
Make sure you snag your fabric asap! The
