WIP Wednesday - End Of March
I knew last week was too good to be true, almost completely caught up on everything?? Instead of getting my list finished, I ended up getting a cold that sucked all my motivation. I had to get a birthday towel done for the weekend, but I didn't even have energy to personalize it, and it was one of my easiest patterns!

Mario Marigold Messenger Bag - By Blue Calla
Continuing the tradition of waiting until last minute to start gifts, I recently decided that making a messenger bag for a cousin in a week (or less) was a GREAT idea! He was turning 7, so it needed to be one that wasn't too huge, or too small, and had some fun features. When he was younger I made him a tiny messenger style bag, so he was ready for something larger. Messenger bags are generally gender neutral, but somehow most of the patterns I owned seemed to be more 'girly' so I went on the hunt for a fast and more 'manly' style. There are tons of free patterns out there, plus even more guides on making your own, but I really wanted something I could throw together without worrying about anything going wrong or the measurements being slightly off.
Metal ring is a bit too big, but it keeps the flap down for sure! |

WIP Wednesday - Moving Right Along in March
The kids are off for spring break this week, so I decided to take some time off and just relax with them. Which meant that I got to do some sewing. ;) I'm actually getting close to having my entire list for the month marked off! Of course if I'd stop adding more to it, I'd finish it for sure!
The second Dachshund wallet came together MUCH faster...and now I have an order for a Shih Tzu wallet...maybe I should get into dog lover's wallets?
Still have a little more of this fabric, maybe enough for another wallet or 2! |

Magnolia Mini Messenger Madness - #4 Tula Pink Tree of Life
Here's the final Magnolia from my assembly line madness! This fabric is one of my all time favorites! I love the blues and greens, so relaxing, but so many fun details too!
This purse is three trees wide...very roomy |

Pick a Pocket Wallet - Dachshund Style
This fabric is not one I'd usually pick out, but I kind of fell in love with these dogs! Especially the one just lounging with the 'how you doin'?' look on his face...

WIP Wednesday - Halfway Through March
Beware the Ides of March! Especially if your name is Caesar....
In other news, Things Are Getting Done. (yes, needs the caps) I FINALLY finished up the Dachshund Pick a Pocket wallet! Now I'm only 3 (purse) orders behind, and if you take into account that I have the interfacing cut for the second one already, I'm really even closer to caught up! Of course I have several "When you have time we should get together and discuss my purse" orders, but they aren't definite yet so I'm not counting them!
If only he'd had a cute dog to warn him... |

Magnolia Mini Messenger Madness - #3 Tula Pink Turtles
The entire reason I started on my Magnolia Messenger mission was for the swap, so I guess it's time to share the real one I sent out! My swap partner indicated that she loved all things Tula, plus purple and pink, so this fabric won out for the actual swap purse! It is definitely bright and bold, and the colors are very vivid! The turtle on the flap is not totally obvious at first glance (at least to me anyway!), but the colors and design are very pretty.

WIP Wednesday - A Whole Bag of NOPE
Did you ever have one of those crafting days when everything you touch is cursed? That was me last night. I was trying to do some pencil toppers on the embroidery machine and it decided that I needed to stay RIGHT beside it while it worked...the thread was shredding and getting caught, needles were breaking, and I'm pretty sure it was laughing at me. Then when I finally got that done and went back to the wallet I was working on, I tried to speed through it and messed that up too!
He doesn't have cataracts, that's glue. And it's not coming off. |

Magnolia Mini Messenger Madness - #2 Ariel Love
The second Magnolia is done in all fabric, and I only had a limited amount of the tonal gradient one. I love the colors, and they perfectly match the Ariel fabric! I think it came from a Gelato Ombre half yard pack I found on Mass Drop. I need to stockpile these, they are so gorgeous in person!
I love all the colors on this. A LOT. |

WIP Wednesday - New Month, Slightly New List
I wonder what it feels like to be totally caught up? I'll never know since I keep adding on new projects! I did manage to finish one project in the wee hours of last night...the twin SuperWhoLock is finally done! Yay! Coming up on the list are 2 more Sydney purses...but I did cut out most of the interfacing for them at least!
Aww, twinsies! |
