Pretty Mermaid Allure (ChrisW Designs)

The first time I made the Allure from ChrisW Designs was when I was testing the pattern, and even though it came together pretty nicely, there are always a few tweaks and changes that result from the testing.  If I make a pattern often enough, I usually start to make my own changes and mental notes, but it's been a while so this was like a fresh new pattern!
Staring into your soul...
The Ariel panel is from Panel Mania, and it's such a gorgeous one that it was a shame that I had to cut off a lot of the edging to get it to fit on the purse!  I still think it looks amazing, even with just her head as the focal point. ;)
Back of the purse, pretty enough to be the front!
To keep it as a 'mermaid only' purse, I didn't use the coordinating fabric (has a bunch of stunning princesses) and instead dug into my stash for a more 'grown up' style licensed fabric I found at Joann's.  I also found the water coordinate there which was a great accent!
Now I want to go swimming...
And I had a fun shimmery mermaid scale to use in the lining, another fun fabric from Joann's!
Trust me, they are glittery. Winter pics are not the best for showing the simmer.
Inside zipper pocket
The vinyl is from My Punkbroidery, a shimmery sand texture that catches the light like wet sand.  This exact one is no longer available, but it was replaced with their stardust line, can't wait to get some to play with and compare the sparkle!
impossible to get a picture of the shimmer, but hey, purse feet!
This purse features a 'hidden' quick access phone pocket, love that feature!
Snips were the only thing I had nearby.
The hardware and rivet accents really give this purse a nice finish, and now that rivets no longer intimidate me (due to the table press!), I love how they bump up the professional look of my purses!
Swing locks, not just for my wallets!
Rivets are about the only way to attach a strap here anyway, that's a LOT of layers!

I just love this panel! I thought it was cool how the same panel can look so different, depending on how much of it you include!  The back fit a little more on, so you got to see the shells and more of the gorgeous colors.

I did get a few extra panels for my stash, but I might turn them into tote bags to really show off the full panel!  It's a new month, so new order slots are open if you need something with this gorgeous fabric!

    1. LOL! You'd have to wrestle the owner for it! I do have an extra of this panel and can make something else with it! I don't have all the same supplies to duplicate it, but I could make you a similar one!
