Ok, not exactly the same, but this is the year I'll get more things crossed off the list! And then I can add new things!!

Custom fabric from Knitorious and vinyl from Punkbroidery - a match made in Mermaid heaven! |
Since I'm easily distracted, I ended up making the Professional Pouch last night for a sew along. SUPER fast project, and smaller than I expected, but either I was not focusing or the instructions weren't as clear as they could have been. Not a pattern I would recommend to a beginner for sure, but for the measurements and general idea, not bad. And super adorable in the mermaid fabric with matching scale vinyl! Maybe I'll try another one and see if it makes more sense to me...

that ribbing is taking me forever. FOREVER. |
I've been getting a little crochet done in my break, and even some organizing. Ok, not much, but I did cake up some yarn and frogged a scarf I wasn't happy with (just the wrong width, too thick for a skinny one and too thin for a chunky one...). The first teacher hat ended up taking me a LOT longer than expected, mainly because it's fine yarn and a small-ish hook...but I actually started liking the color combos in it much more than I expected (she asked for red, purple and green).

Yarn cakes, tasty! |
I even got a project in with one of my kids, my son decided to make
CosmoKitty from Sew Desu Ne. It's a free pattern and pretty quick. I'd like to attribute the sewing to him, but mainly it was me using super fluffy cuddle fabric that kept shifting around and then him 'helping' me by grabbing pins as I was sewing. He did a lot of the accent cutting himself and we worked on the face details to get it just right (we decided it's really a mustache, not a smile). He stuffed him and even hand sewed some of the parts shut. He loves him, and named him Aleksi Stuukof. Because obviously cosmokitty is a Russian cosmonaut. It's not showing up clearly in the pics, but his space suit is star minky! My son picked out all the fabrics, but next time I think we'll work on either fleece or less nappy minky for the details...

I think he needs a monocle. |

Any stuffy with a jetpack is awesome in my book! |
Next up on the cutting table is an 85%
Annette Commuter Tote. (affiliated link) It looks like a pretty fast pattern, even if I do add in some extra pockets...hopefully I can get it done by Friday since that's when I need to get started on orders! I've been enjoying my sew-cation from orders...but I need to get them done and out of the studio so I can justify buying more fabric. ;)
