Sometimes I get a wild idea and just go with it! For this one, I kept seeing downsized Speedwell backpacks and thought that it would be fun to try that with another stylish backpack. I already make the teeny backpacks that are super small, so I wanted to try one a little bigger but still cute and adorable.

The colors are so gorgeous on this fabric!

For this one, I reduced the size of the smaller version of the
Swoon Denver Backpack(affiliate link). I wanted it to fit a phone, so I adjusted it until the final size would be about 7" tall and wide enough for most phones. Depending on what else you put inside, it could hold more stuff, and the side zippers are fully functional (perfect for a small lip gloss or usb!)

There's a phone in there |

See, it's really in there! |
Since this wasn't for an order, it was on my ufo list forever...mainly because I couldn't decide what kind of strap to make for it. Backpack - would that look weird? (maybe on an kid it would be fine...) Crossbody - did I have enough of the fabric left? (NO, rats...) I ended up making a detachable short strap, maybe it could be a shoulder strap (that puts it in your armpit), or possible a longer wrist strap...or I can always make a longer strap in a solid/coordinating color. I thought about even threading the short strap through belt loops so it could be a hip type bag!

Back view, has the 2 connectors at the top where a longer strap could be attached |
At least the little handle is perfect for carrying it!

Side view with my model's hand since it kept tipping over |
The fabric on the outside is a scrap I had of the gorgeous bouquet hats from Backstitch, and the lining is a pretty Fairy Frost from Michael Miller that has a shimmer print on top of the teal. The gold zipper pulls are some I got in variety packs from Wizardry, Stitchery and Crafts and didn't know if I'd ever use them, but they were so perfect! (once again my collection is justified!) The Pastel Rainbow zipper tape is also from Wizardry, Stitchery and Crafts. The tiny vinyl accent piece on the front is some super sparkly textured rainbow vinyl scrap I had in my scrap pile, so I don't even remember what it was called or where I got it from...

Unzipped top, can see the vinyl front piece better |
|
Side pocket open...just a little one but still useable! |
The front clip can be undone and more stuff can be shoved inside...I'm not sure exactly how much it would hold, but it gets pretty roomy for such a little bag!

I stole my youngest's phone to use as a model, so the Samsung A51 5G fits inside nicely! It's bigger than my Samsung Galaxy S10 so that's my new standard for phones fitting inside.

This is actually a galaxy S7, but it was the cleanest/prettiest of our cases lol |
I love this little bag, but I have no plans to use it, so it's looking for a good home (new home found)! I can also make more, some of the tiny prints I've been collecting lately would be adorable on this size of bag! I think a thin cross body strap would be awesome for this style, so I might have to whip up one to go with this one!
